What is Impact Hub Boulder?

Impact Hub Boulder is a community of entrepreneurs, investors, creatives and professionals who are transforming business to include deep global responsibility. As a member of growing global network of over 40 Impact Hubs’ on five continents we provide coworking space, incubation support, a strong and diverse network, and daily activities in our 10,000 sq. foot dynamic space in downtown Boulder. We are curators of the physical, virtual and social spaces where the change we want to see in the world is happening. Will Impact Hub Boulder be a productive work environment?

We designed Impact Hub Boulder to have a variety of collaborative and solitary workspaces so you can tap into community resources, host meetings and events, break out into design sessions, or work quietly on your own. Your ideas for how we can increase your productivity are always welcome as we shape the space!

We want to see how our members use the space to work, ideate and socialize. Nothing is nailed down and we are constantly evolving with design and configuration to best serve your needs. We say that the space is always in “beta” mode.

Are desks reserved?

Only conference rooms and event space can be reserved at Impact Hub Boulder. All desks in the open coworking environment are first-come first serve and cannot be reserved.

How do I know that there will be a workspace for me when I come to Impact Hub Boulder?

There are a finite amount of Memberships available and the Impact Hub Boulder team is able to manage the flow of member hours and usage to guarantee that work and meeting space will be available. Also, some Members prefer working in the quiet morning while others will gravitate toward busier times. Members will, to some degree, self manage their use of their hours around their preferences.

Is Impact Hub Boulder an incubator or a coworking space?

We are not a 16-week program focused on Start-ups (ACCELERATOR) nor is space the end goal for us (COWORKING). Impact Hub Boulder is a catalyst to accomplish our social mission of  furthering positive impact and new socially-oriented business in the world. Impact Hub Boulder shares many things in common with incubators and co-working spaces, but also thinktanks, cafe’s and community centers.

What makes Impact Hub Boulder truly unique is its multifaceted approach to supporting an international community whose measure of success places a high value on positive social and environmental impact. Based on your needs, you can leverage the HUB to get work done, incubate a project or business, or even just build a social network with like-minded people.

What is Impact Hub Global? How does the global network relate to Impact Hub Boulder?

By being a member of Impact Hub Boulder, you are a member of all Impact Hubs around the world and can access them when visiting other cities. Impact Hub is a global community of people from every profession, background and culture working at ‘new frontiers’ to tackle the world’s  most pressing social, cultural and environmental challenges.

From San Francisco to London, Johannesberg, Rio, and Madrid, Bombay, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Melbourne and Tel Aviv, over 4,000 members in more than 40 cities on 5 continents, come  to the Impact Hub to take collaborative action for a better world.

As a member of Impact Hub Boulder you receive an Impact Hub Passport which generally allows you 1 free coworking day at any Impact Hub and then coworking discounts after that. Note that each Impact Hub is unique so please contact the local Host for details prior to your trip.

Will I be able to take calls at Impact Hub Boulder?

Yes. The Impact Hub Boulder floor plan includes six phone booths for phone calls. Four are available on a first come first serve basis, and two can be reserved day of.

I want to stop by and check out the space, may I?

We would love to give you a tour of the space! We welcome walk-ins or please contact one of our Hosts at info@impacthubboulder.com to schedule a time for a tour. Impact Hub Boulder also offers trial day passes with the added perk that if you decide to join as a member, we will apply to the cost of your day pass toward your membership.

Where is Impact Hub Boulder located?

Impact Hub Boulder is located on the garden level entrance of 1877 Broadway, Suite 100 Boulder, CO 80302 in the Randolph Center building. Impact Hub Boulder has two entrances; one located on Walnut street (look for the entrance next to the Parking Garage on Walnut) and one located at the Broadway entrance to the Randolph building (look for the doors directly in front of buss stop).   Located in the heart of Boulder, we love this part of the city with it’s history, its accessibility to public transit, the high density of local businesses, world class professional firms, and up and coming talent.

Where can I park?

Impact Hub Boulder is also connected to a city parking garage (enter off of Walnut St) and there is ample street parking and bike parking as well. Please take care to use designated bike racks around Impact Hub Boulder and know that there is a bus stop right on the corner of Walnut and Broadway in front of the Impact Hub Boulder Building.

How do I book a conference room at Impact Hub Boulder?

We have three awesome conference rooms available to Impact Hub Boulder members for discounted prices. More detail outlining each room and instructions on how to book online starting now can be found here. Members receive discount codes for the conference rooms in their welcome/acceptance email.

The process is explained online, but please do not hesitate to reach out to our Hosts with any
additional questions. The codes are different for different levels of membership and we do ask that you respect this and do not share your code. If you are interested in booking a space for more than 14 people, please see our event rental page.

Conference rooms are outfitted with flat screen monitors and Apple TVs. See the Host if you need additional adapter.

How do my hours work?

Please see membership pricing and benefits for more information on the specifics of your hours usage. Hours are individual, non-transferable and are associated with your name only. Please note that your specific number of hours are allotted on a monthly basis and that there are no roll-overs or accrual of unused hours.

What hours can I work at Impact Hub Boulder?

  • MON to FRI: 9 to 6 PM

  • SAT to SUN: closed

  • 24/7 access for off-hours fob holders & office holders

Impact Hub Boulder is a dynamic space. Please expect that the space will be altered during the daytime or evening for events, workshops or classes. We will notify members if it requires using the entire space and we hope that you enjoy these events as an opportunity to connect with other members. Please note however that some events will be private.

Is there storage available?

Personal lockers and monitor storage are available to members. Please see a Host for current pricing and availability.

Can I have my mail sent to the Impact Hub Boulder?

Yes! Depending on your membership level, we will issue you a mailbox upon request or you can add a mailbox to your existing membership package for a small monthly fee. Please see a Host for current pricing and availability.

What if I want to host guests or have meetings with non-members at the Impact Hub Boulder?

You can have friends and colleagues come meet with you at the Impact Hub Boulder – in the workspace, privacy booths, or meeting rooms.  We ask that if there are more than 3 to a group or if your meeting is over 30 minutes long, that you reserve a conference room.  Please see Impact Hub Boulder Membership Handbook to read specifically about our guest policy.

What do the Impact Hub Boulder Hosts do?

The Hosts at Impact Hub Boulder orients members, connects members to each other, facilitates community, ensures that the space is running smoothly, designs and implements events, and cultivates value-added tools, services, partnerships, and sponsorships. The Hosts also acts as a peer mentor and helps members realize the value of Impact Hub Boulder and how it can be applied to members’ agendas.

Impact Hub Boulder Hosts are great for helping you connect to the community, daily questions, and getting your acquainted with the space. They are here to help with the space but are are not here solely to clean up after members, so please do not rely on them for tasks such as washing dishes or cleaning up messes. You will always know the day’s host by looking to the person sitting at the Host Desk.

Can I change my membership level after I join?

Yes! We make it easy for you to adjust your membership level based on how much you will actually use the space every month. Just speak to a host and they will direct you to a membership change/cancel form.

Can I rent Impact Hub Boulder for an event and how much will it cost?

Assuming the space is available, yes, of course!  Members receive a discount on meeting rooms and event spaces.  If you are interested in hosting an event of your own or in partnership with Impact Hub Boulder, please visit us here on our event rental page first and if you still have questions email us at hannah@impacthubboulder.com

As often as possible, Impact Hub Boulder focuses our space rentals specifically on values aligned events. As a rule of thumb these are events or programs that are enhancing the greater good of our communities and are focused on the field of Impact & For-benefit, sustainability, civic engagement, arts & culture, and capacity building for entrepreneurs. If in doubt, give us a call!

When does my membership start?

Upon approval of your agreement. You will receive a very sweet welcome letter as well!

When am I billed?

All payments for Impact Hub Boulder membership happen automatically on your anniversary date–the day of the month you began at Impact Hub Boulder. Payments will be automatically charged to your credit card on file on your monthly anniversary date.

How much is a Day Pass for a guest or non-member?

Impact Hub Boulder is membership-based and membership is based on values-alignment. That said, we are open to you sticking your toes in the water to give our brand of world-changing try! 1-Day trial passes are available. Feel free to contact us at host@impacthubboulder.com to schedule a trial pass.

How does collaboration happen between members?

This is an organic process facilitated by members and Hosts. It can take the shape of simply asking other members  to participate in design/strategy sessions or working groups, offering brown bag lunch, workshops or hiring members for specific services/tasks. Sometimes Hosts will make  introductions and other times members will find each other in the space or on the online platform. Collaboration can also take the form of collective campaigns where members pool resources for a given agenda. Impact Hub Boulder and its members also organize a diverse array of events that make connections and create new opportunities. There is tremendous opportunity for HUB members to come together and exponentially increase their impact through collaboration.

Can I print at the Impact Hub Boulder?

Impact Hub Boulder is outfitted with one wireless printer/scanner. Each membership level comes with an allotted set of prints. Anything above that will be billed. Please be considerate of the environment! We encourage everyone to be sparing in how much they print.

How do members offer programming?

Apply to teach a Workbench, programing that provides practical education for organizations and entrepreneurs. Workbench is taught by diverse and experienced professionals and designed to help accelerate you or your organization towards success. Apply to teach a Workbench.
